Much Improved

Much Improved

mother’s milk has given me
bad bones and crooked teeth.
those cheap old chinese knockoffs
are littered at my feet.

split the bill right down the middle
and kissed the minute hand.
the waiting clocks are angry now
for us to make our plans.

taking in the lonely boat while throwing out your shoes.
those are all just images to burn once they’ve been used.
you won’t need me anymore now.
you’re much improved.

seeing you in technicolor,
first time in days,
standing out since black on white
but you still sound your age.

polystyrene antidote
a cure for our disease.
the panacea of the times
from long lost dynasties.

taking in the lonely boat while throwing out your shoes.
those are all just images to burn once they’ve been used.
calling me another name while staring at the moon.
you won’t need me anymore now.  you know it’s true.
you won’t need me anymore now.

you’re much improved.
